Suffolk Gold is a light crumbly farmhouse cheese with a beautiful golden colour. Katharine and Jason Salisbury, the founders of Suffolk Farmhouse Cheeses, installed a dairy on their farm near Needham Market in 2009, where Katharine handmakes their cheeses from the pasteurised milk of their robotically milked Guernsey and Jersey herd. On a beautiful sunny day In May 2018, Clare visited Whitegate Farm, the home of Katherine and Jason Salisbury and their Suffolk Farmhouse Cheeses. Katherine and Jason have been at Whitegate Farm since 2008. when they set up their own herd to provide rich, creamy milk to make cheese.

I'm no cheese expert, but I don't find the description of this cheese as very accurate because I don't think it is a crumbly cheese but it is 'creamy and buttery with a light tang at the finish'. I've bought it twice, so I can say that I like it very much.
Such a well behaved cheese, creaminess without being cloying....and one of my husband's favourites too!
