We’re very grateful to Jane Steward from Eastgate Larder for introducing us to the long-forgotten medlar fruit. She handmakes a unique range of medlar products at home in Norfolk. Jane uses the juice of locally grown medlars, along with local sugar and natural pectin from lemon juice to create her medlar jelly, an exceptional accompaniment for soft cheeses, charcuterie and pâtés. We love it with East Anglian gems St. Jude and Norfolk Tawny. Medlar jelly is also a delicious addition to enrich sauces when cooking. More information (including allergens) >
