Fondue Cheese Selection

Planning a fondue evening? This fondue selection contains three exquisite Alpine cheeses and a recipe to help you create an authentic fondue at home.

Simply rub a garlic clove over the sides of the fondue pot before pouring in dry white wine. Once bubbling, remove the pot from the heat and stir in the cheeses. Emmental de Savoie PGI provides a buttery base with a delicate, fruity flavour. Le Gruyère Reserve AOP adds floral, nutty and sharp flavours, and Comté Vieux AOC adds sweetness and deep nutty notes. Finish the dish with freshly ground pepper and a glass of Kirsch. Enjoy with bread, the traditional accompaniment for cheese fondue. This is dipped into the sauce with long-stemmed forks. Remember though, anyone who loses their bread is expected to pay a forfeit!

Complete fondue sets, containing a pot, burner and six forks, are available to hire for just £10! Full details can be found on our Fondue & Raclette page. More information (including allergens) >

Tasting notes

Emmental de Savoie PGI is a mild, buttery and fruity French Emmental made from unpasteurised cow’s milk.

Le Gruyère Reserve AOP is a Swiss classic. It is made from unpastuerised cow’s milk and matured longer than standard varieties for greater depth of flavour.

This Comté Vieux AOC is made from raw cow’s milk in the Jura mountains and matured for 18 months for a sweeter and deeper nutty flavour.
